When Rob Lavers began listening to the music of Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane, he developed an interest in jazz and began performing in venues with local jazz musicians. At that time I had just finished a degree in Fine Art, Painting!

He later entered the "Young Jazz Musician" competition and was given the opportunity to play with a professional Jazz band on television in front of a large audience.

In 1995 Rob moved to London and fulfilled his desire to play in a band which focused largely on Latin American and Cuban grooves. The group, "Pachanga", played regularly in London's night clubs for over two years.

As well as performing live jazz gigs, Rob took the opportunity to work with musicians such as Flamenco guitarist Juan Martin, Israeli composer Tsivi Sharrett and several West African and Brazilian artists.

Rob has recently been touring with 'Sahara' (jazz quartet), running workshops and gigging throughout the UK.
