John Turville trained at Cambridge University and completed the Guildhall Postgraduate Diploma in Jazz in 2001. Since graduating, he has played regularly with Gilad Atzmon, Dylan Howe, Columbia's premiere timbalero Roberto Pla, Julian Siegel and Matt Wates among many others.
He runs a trio playing original material as well as playing Rhodes in Robbie Robson's 1970's electronic funk band 'Dog Soup'. John has experience in many other styles including salsa, rnb/soul, classical and gospel music.
He has worked as an accompanist for English National Opera with the gospel singer Brenda Rattray and recorded CDs with the American countertenor Michael Harper (Love, Life and Spirit) and the saxophonist Josh Kemp (Animus, FMR).
