Jazz Talent Music Agency hosts a high-profile jam session on the last Monday of each month in West London. If you are unfamiliar with 'jams' a jam session is a hotpot for musical talent, where musicians are invited to come and perform. At most jams, anyone can turn up and play - and the band will invariably be made up of 'pot luck'. Well, at the Jazz Talent Jam, sure, anyone can turn up. But in terms of performing - you've got to have the goods!!

The nights all feature a stellar house band and a special guest. The music will be outstanding and so the performers all need to be jazz-fluent. This jam is not for beginners! Although young cats and newcomers to their instruments will find it highly educational.

Another thing you'll find different about The Jazz Talent Jam is the atmosphere. Apart from featuring the best of British talent, the host and girl on the door wear vintage clothing (1940s-60s). The reason? Well, our aim at The Jazz Talent Jam is to create the kind of musical atmosphere and melting pot which jazz clubs in the 40's and 50's had, where on any given night, Miles Davis would go down to a club and jam with Charlie Parker and Ella and Dizzy would come down to enjoy the music and meet with friends. And we believe that that's exactly what we're creating - a great atmosphere where jazz listeners and musicians alike come together to enjoy the music, have fun and perform.

For those of you who've been to The George in Chiswick, you'll know that it's a great venue with pleasant staff. But don't take my word for it - you'll have to experience it for yourself. So come and enjoy the spontaneity of jazz with friends or fellow musicians.

The jams are held on the LAST MONDAY of every month at George IV, 185 Chiswick High Road, London, W4 (nearest tube: Turnham Green (District Line). Buses: 237, 267, 391, 440, E3, H91).
Albums by the artists will be on sale on the night.
