After studying for an MA at Oxford University and a post-graduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music, Carlos was invited to study with David Liebman in New York. He then toured the UK with his own group, playing at most of the main jazz venues and also extensively abroad. He composes for many of the groups he performs with, and has also written for film. Having recorded many CDs with a number of bands, as well as doing TV, film, and pop sessions, Carlos has also performed live on BBC TV and radio.
