From a musical family, Aron showed much promise when at the age of 11 he won an award for New Zealand's most outstanding jazz musician under the age of 25. In 1999, at the age of 16, he was runner-up in the National Jazz Awards, the country's most prestigious jazz competition. By then he had already been a sideman on an album, which was voted New Zealand Jazz CD of the Year and performed solo at the Monterey Jazz Festival in California.
He appeared on an Australian Broadcasting Commission jazz TV series, and was snapped up as accompanist for cabaret star Paul Capsis, with whom he performed at the wedding of film star Russell Crowe.
Aron is now based in London and performs at venues across the city.
